Partner Tom Martin appointed to new position in New Jersey Community Associations Institute

As part of his Community Association Law practice, Partner, Thomas C. Martin, has been appointed to the Building Structural Integrity Committee of the New Jersey Community Associations Institute. The Building Structural Integrity Committee was formed to consider and propose legislation, inspections and regulations governing reserve funds and repairs to common element structural items in community associations in response to recent concerns about condominium building integrity and maintenance. The Building Structural Integrity Committee was established in the wake of the tragic events of the Champlain Tower South, Florida, collapse. The Building Structural Integrity Committee is charged with the responsibility to seek new and practical ways to address safety and to explore potential avenues for financing for what can be very costly but necessary structural repairs and replacements. These projects and paying for them is of paramount concern for community associations across the country. The Building Structural Integrity Committee is working to provide guidance and real world solutions for board members and unit owners. We serve to educate and to try to solve these problems so they do not reoccur.
