New Executive Orders change NJ Covid-19 reopening rules

This is the most-recent information from the Office of the Governor as of March 10, 2021 regarding the current steps to try to slowly reopen the State.

New Executive Orders:
• Effective Friday, March 19th, the following businesses can increase indoor capacity to 50% (up from 35%).
o Restaurants
o Recreational and amusement
o Gyms and fitness clubs
o Barber ships, salons, and other personal care businesses.

• Effective Friday, March 19th, indoor gatherings that are not religious services or ceremonies, political events, weddings, funerals, memorial services or performances will be capped at 25 individuals (up from 10).

• Effective Friday, March 19th, outdoor gatherings that are not religious services or ceremonies, political events, weddings, funerals or memorial services will be capped at 50 individuals (up from 25).

New Administrative Orders:
• Compassionate care, essential caregiver, outdoor, and end-of-life visitation by appointments should be permitted even when indoor visitation is otherwise restriction.
o Essential caregivers should permit visitation should a facility go 14 days without a positive case.
o Compassionate care visits are permitted even when there is a known positive case in the facility.
o Outdoor visitations are allowed in all phases.

Additional Announcements:
• Mask Mandate remains in place.
• The CDC is expected to release updated guidelines on Healthcare facilities and LTC facility visitations as early as today after 4pm.

Q/A:
• Will seating at bars be permitted under the increased capacity limits for restaurants? According to the Office of the Governor, the answer is no.
• Will there be more openings before the summer? According to the Office of the Governor, graduations and school proms are under consideration.
