Overview

On December 19, 2024, Mexico announced increased Tariffs on imports.  The transportation and logistics industry is already bracing for President-elect Donald Trump’s proposed tariffs (25% on goods from Canada and Mexico and 10% on goods from China).  Mexico introduced its own Tariffs including an increase to 35%.  Now is the time to check your transportation broker and motor carrier contracts to make sure Tariff increases are considered or are a “pass through” charge on your broker fee or contract of carriage.  Consult with experienced legal counsel in the transportation field for details and strategies to address this rapidly changing transportation and logistics landscape.
