December 21, 2018 – William Bierman, the head of the firm’s Transportation Law Group, has been nominated to serve on the Steering Committee of the Alliance for Safe, Efficient & Competitive Truck Transportation (ASECTT). ASECTT is a group of shippers, carriers, brokers that was formed to alert the shipping community of the impact of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) Regulations on capacity, competition and liability.

September 19, 2018 – The firm is pleased to announce that partner Thomas C. Martin, Esq. has been called upon to speak before a New Jersey State Assembly panel on September 20, 2019 at Kean University in Union, New Jersey at 10:00 AM and will give testimony on the subject of foreclosure reform and its substantial impact on community associations in New Jersey.

September 19, 2018 – Partner Thomas C. Martin, Esq. has been published in the September 2018 edition of Community Trends, which is the magazine of the New Jersey Chapter of the Community Associations Institute.  His article, entitled “New Jersey Foreclosure Reform Efforts: Expedited Foreclosures And Receivers,” explores current efforts in the New Jersey Legislature to get much needed foreclosure reform passed.  His article also spells out the detrimental impact which so called “zombie foreclosures” have had on community associations across the State of New Jersey.  His article can be accessed at www.cainj.org

September 12, 2018 – Gail Price has been recognized by New Jersey Monthly Magazine in its 2018 Top Attorneys in New Jersey. She also has been named by New York Magazine to its list of 2018 Top Attorneys in New York and in its publication of 2018 Leading Women Lawyers. Gail was  selected by Peer Review for recognition in (201) Magazine’s Top Lawyers in Bergen in the field of land use/zoning.

August 22, 2018 – William Bierman, the head of the firm’s Transportation Law Group, recently participated in the American Conference of Transportation Attorneys (ACTA) Annual Motor Carrier Industry Meeting held in Orlando, Florida on August 16-17, 2018. ACTA is one of the foremost industry groups made up of the most recognized catastrophic personal injury defense counsel. Bill discussed the topic of “Judge Kavanaugh and the Administrative State.”

William Bierman, the head of the firm’s Transportation Law Group, was invited to attend the prestigious UPS Core Counsel Network Summit in Atlanta, Georgia held at the Headquarters of Alston & Bird on August 20-21, 2018.  The Core Counsel consists of those firms who do the most important work of UPS.  Along with our firm were some of the most well know firms in the US, Europe, and Asia such as DLA Piper; Jones Day;  Greenberg Traurig; Holland & Knight; and Proskauer Rose. The summit was hosted by Norm Brothers, General Counsel of UPS.

July 2, 2018 – PMSD Sponsors Player of the Game Awards at World Lacrosse Championship.  Price, Meese, Shulman, and D’Arminio, P.C., is pleased to announce that the firm will sponsor the “Player of the Game” award for the Irish National Lacrosse Team (http://main.irelandlacrosse.ie/) competing this month at the quadrennial World Lacrosse Championships in Netanya, Israel (http://worldlacrosse2018.com/).  The Price Meese Player of the Game will be awarded each game to Team Ireland’s best Offensive and best Defensive player.  Pool play begins on July 12th when Team Ireland takes on China.

July 2, 2018 – The firm is pleased to announce that Partner, Thomas C. Martin, Esq., has been named to the faculty of the Community Associations Institute’s Legal Education Committee.  On November 10, 2018 from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm at the New Jersey Law Center, One Constitution Square, New Brunswick, New Jersey, Mr. Martin will be one of the faculty member presenters for the New Jersey Institute Continuing Legal Education Community Association Law Seminar.  Mr. Martin will be speaking on mortgage foreclosure reform and maintenance fee assessment obligations.  This seminar will also include several other topics and issues related to the overall field of Community Association Law.  Please click on the links to the programs below for additional information.

June 28, 2018 – Michelle Krone Sworn in By New Jersey Attorney General

Price Meese Shulman & D’Arminio, P.C. is pleased to announce that Michelle Krone is now an associate attorney at the firm.  Ms. Krone was sworn in to the New Jersey Bar on June 15, 2018, by New Jersey Attorney General Gurbir Grewal who administered the oath of office before family and friends at the firm’s offices in Woodcliff Lake.

Ms. Krone will concentrate her practice in representing and advocating on behalf of individuals with special needs and their families. For the past two years, prior to graduating from law school, Michelle worked at the firm as a parent advocate.  Ms. Krone has represented clients in special education, early intervention, Section 504, school disciplinary and higher education matters. She also provides assistance with special needs planning, including preparation of Special Needs Trusts and guardianship applications.

Ms. Krone began her career in special education as a special education elementary teacher in the New Jersey public school system. She graduated from Rutgers University, earning a B.A. degree in Sociology and a minor in Education. Michelle also graduated from Rutgers Graduate School of Education with an Ed.M. in Special Education and Elementary Education. Ms. Krone holds K-12 Teacher of Students with Disabilities and K-5 Elementary Education, Certificate of Eligibility with Advanced Standing. Ms. Krone is a member of the Learning Disabilities Association of New Jersey.

As a teacher, Ms. Krone devoted her time to advocating for her students’ needs. To further her ability to advocate on behalf of children’s needs, she attended law school to pursue a career as a special education attorney. Ms. Krone earned her Juris Doctor from Rutgers Law School where she worked in the Education and Health Law Clinic providing free legal representation to indigent clients in special education and early education.

June 26, 2018 – Rick Steinberg gave two presentations regarding maritime law and federal subject matter jurisdiction and procedure to the Conference of Freight Counsel in Alexandria, Virginia on June 24, 2018.  Rick practices in the fields of bankruptcy and transportation law, including maritime law.

June 22, 2018 – The NJ Senate and Assembly took an exciting and economically sound step with the June 21, 2018 passage of S233/A3654, requiring the creation and operation of an office of ‘transit-oriented development’ within NJ Transit.  This will afford and mandate the analysis of real properties owned by NJ Transit and require the valuation of and recommended real estate economic development options for these significant lands which are proximate to key NJ Transit infrastructure.  Enhancing access to transit for employers and residents from mixed use developments may provide a life-line to downtowns experiencing a growing number of empty storefronts and may also assist in the creation of more walkable and less automotive dependent communities.  For more information on this updtae and land use/entitlement matters please email Gail Price gprice@pricemeese.com.

April 24, 2018 – The firm is pleased to announce that Partner Thomas C. Martin, Esq. has been asked to address a panel seminar on community association law entitlted “Mortgage Foreclosure and Assessments Obligations – Rules, Methods and Legislation.”  The seminar is scheduled for November 14, 2018, beginning at 9:00 AM at the New Jersey Law Center, One Constitution Square, New Brunswick, NJ.  This seminar is sponsored by the New Jersey Continuing Legal Education Foundation and is open to anyone with an interest in community association law including practitioners, lenders, real estate developers and sponsors, community association board members and property managers.

March 6, 2018 – William Bierman, the head of the firm’s Transportation Law Group and member of the Alan M. Voorhees Transportation Center Advisory Board at Rutgers University Blaustein School, will be participating at the Advisory Board Meeting on Wednesday, April 11th, 2018 to be held on campus of Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ.

February 13, 2018 – Rick Steinberg attended the Transportation Lawyers Association Chicago regional seminar on January 19.  Rick will be giving a presentation on Venue in Bankruptcy at the TLA annual conference on May 4 in Orlando, Florida.  Rick is the Chairman of the Bankruptcy and Creditors’ Rights Committee of the Transportation Lawyers Association.

Rick Steinberg will be attending the New Jersey State Bar Association Bankruptcy Bench-Bar Conference on March 23 in East Brunswick.  Rick practices in the areas of bankruptcy and creditors’ rights, transportation and maritime law, and commercial litigation.

February 1, 2018 – Rick Steinberg will be attending the Admiralty Law Institute of Tulane University in New Orleans from February 28 to March 2.  Rick is a Proctor in Admiralty of the Maritime Law Association of the United States, the leading admiralty law organization in the country.
