One of the most difficult decisions our clients will face in life is how to best structure their personal affairs for the sake of their loved ones. The attorneys of Price, Meese, Shulman & D'Arminio possess substantial experience in this complex area of the law, as well as the sensitivity needed to guide our clients through this process with a common sense approach to their needs. Over the years, our counselors have developed the skills required to identify and explain to clients the estate plans that are best suited to their particular needs. We assist each client to understand the range of options that are available to them, and then intelligently choose a plan or set of plans.
We evaluate each of our clients' needs separately and carefully, rather than force clients into a "one size fits all" plan. When appropriate, we recommend simple methods, such as credit-shelter or insurance trusts, which are available to obtain significant estate planning benefits. In other cases, we may suggest a more complex approach that results in an estate plan tailored to meet a client’s diverse needs.
Unique financial or family circumstances sometimes require specialized trusts or other devices that limit distributions to heirs. Other clients may require legal advice to ensure the smooth transition of a business from one generation to the next. Charitable distributions, involving significant benefits to non-profit organizations as well as heirs, may be the goal of some clients. We have the background and experience to address and implement all of these needs, as well as prepare various forms of wills, powers of attorney, and health care directives (e.g., living wills) as part of our services.
Our firm also assists clients in the following areas:
We render services as local counsel for foreign estates, where ancillary administrative or probate is required. The Firm also acts as counsel to several financial institutions, with respect to their normal administration of trusts, as well as to address the issues and challenges that arise in these matters.
Our clients repose considerable trust and confidence in Price, Meese, Shulman & D'Arminio by including us in this special and personal process. Each of our estate and trust practitioners respects this important responsibility, treating our clients with the attention, dignity and understanding that they expect. We remain committed to understanding the needs of our clients, providing accurate and timely responses to their questions, and diligently working with them, to achieve their goals.
