Michael K. Breen concentrates his practice in the areas of commercial real estate, corporate law matters, commercial transactions, and land use. Mr. Breen has represented landlords and tenants for office, retail, and industrial lease transactions, and numerous other clients for corporate and commercial matters, and frequently lectures on topics related to commercial transactions. He also serves as General Counsel for an international manufacturing trade association.
Mr. Breen joined the firm after working for SJP Properties, a prominent real estate developer based in Parsippany, New Jersey. While at SJP, Mr. Breen was responsible for the leasing and sale of large office and other commercial properties, both build-to-suit and speculative projects, including the negotiation and preparation of leases and related agreements.
In addition to his experience as a transactional and real estate lawyer, Mr. Breen began his career as a personal injury litigator with a leading New Jersey law firm. He also served as law clerk for the Honorable Nicholas J. Mandak, A.J.S.C., Assignment Judge, Superior Court of New Jersey (Passaic County). Mr. Breen is a member of the Hudson-Bergen Inn of Transactional Counsel, and a licensed commercial real estate broker in New Jersey.
Mr. Breen is a member of the Board of Trustees for Dominican College, a four-year private college in Orangeburg, New York. He is also a Trustee for the College of the Holy Cross Alumni Association of New Jersey, and serves on the Legal and Administration Group for the Northern New Jersey Council, Boy Scouts of America. A citizen of both the United States and Ireland, Mr. Breen is active in many Irish-American organizations, and writes the monthly newsletter for the New Jersey chapter of the Irish American Unity Conference (www.iauc.org).
